The ideal candidate will have strong experience in scaling novel manufacturing processes from concept to pilot-production, system integration, and DFx and a proven ability to deliver reliable, high-performance hardware prototypes for emerging VR/AR systems.Responsibilities:Lead Manufacturing Engineering, system integration activities, and DFx in a cross-functional environment to deliver reliable, high-performance hardware prototypes.Scale state-of-the-art hardware prototypes from concept to pilot-production volumes.Expand in-house manufacturing capabilities and manage external manufacturing partnerships.Develop and improve processes and relationships that enable researchers and design engineers to build complex systems.Required Skills & Qualifications:BS/MS in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Process, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field, or equivalent work experience.8+ years of experience scaling processes to pilot-production or mass manufacture, with quality control implementation to resolve processing issues.Hands-on experience with manufacturing techniques for robotics and soft wearable devices, including textiles, polymer processing, electromechanical integration, lamination, and adhesive bonding.Expertise in process development plans, DOE, critical process parameters, and quality control strategies.Project management skills with experience directing cross-functional priorities to meet schedule milestones and stakeholder requirements.Preferred Skills:10+ years in early product manufacturing development.Experience in design and/or production of robotic systems.Background in mass production across multiple processes such as miniature motorized mechanisms, soft goods cutting/laminating/kitting, active optical alignment, casting, molding, machining, electronics packaging, coatings, and additive manufacturing.Experience in design for manufacturing, assembly, or reliability.Proficiency with industry CAD software such as NX or related tools.Why BCforward?At BCforward, we believe in advancing lives and careers.
