    Description

    Essential Responsibilities

    This position will be responsible for assisting the Engineering team with product development and transfer projects.  The Process Engineering Technician also supports to commercialization of manufactured product.   

    • Setting up and operating different machines, running and monitoring the output of the machine tools, cell, and automated processes.
    • Ensure accurate sample preparation.
    • Assist with scale-up process of prototypes into full production.
    • Support commercialization of products.
    • Provide assistance with testing of products and processes.
    • Conduct performance and development tests including investigations.
    • Accountability for delivering quality work in required timescales.
    • Assemble product components, documenting production information, and performing maintenance on equipment and machinery as needed.
    • Optimizing production efficiency.
    • Collaborate with other departments on new process and production documentation and training.
    • Support and/or execute process validations, test method development, test method validations, development builds and testing, root cause analysis, and assembly line development.
    • Author and/or execute process validations.
    • Complete lab studies and write technical documentation.
    • Identify and participate in continuous improvement activities.
    • Other duties as assigned by manager.

    Supervisory Responsibility

    This position is an individual contributor and has no direct supervisory responsibility.

    Work Environment

    This position operates in an office and manufacturing environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.  The position also interacts with machinery on the manufacturing floor and numerous devices that are sold by the company.

    Physical Demands

    Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

    Travel

    This position requires no measurable travel.

    Required Education and Experience

    • Associate degree or High School Diploma or equivalency
    • 7+ years’ of process and manufacturing experience in a manufacturing facility
    • Experience following work instructions, process documentation and procedures to ensure safe operating of all equipment while producing high quality work.
    • The ability to troubleshoot manufacturing processes using scientific principles and resolve issues related to production quality.
    • A team-driven attitude to work together and support department initiatives such as 5S.
    • The ability to complete production paperwork, which includes inventory accuracy.
    • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Medical device industry or regulated industry experience preferred

    Position Requirements

    • Excellent verbal and written communications required; strong facilitation and interpersonal skills required.
    • Must be able to communicate complex information to all levels within the organization.
    • Demonstrated high quality computer skills including MS Office.
    • Must be detail-oriented and produce high quality work in a high-volume environment.
    • Must be able to handle confidential information in an appropriate and professional manner.
    • Ability to remain flexible and open to change within a fluid global industry.
