Job Title: Process Equipment Engineer
Location: Boston, MA
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Experience Level: 5-6 years

Pay rate: $55/hr on W2

Job Summary

We are seeking a Process Equipment Engineer to support a large-scale greenfield biopharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This owner-side role will provide technical oversight of process equipment, piping, containment, and mechanical systems from design and construction through commissioning, qualification, startup, and operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical oversight for process equipment, piping, containment, and mechanical systems.
  • Review equipment/system designs, P&IDs, specifications, and vendor documentation.
  • Evaluate equipment for maintainability, cleanability, reliability, safety, and containment.
  • Support equipment design reviews, vendor coordination, field walkdowns, installation, and system readiness.
  • Partner with Process Engineering, Construction, CQV, Automation, Operations, and Quality teams.
  • Support FAT/SAT, commissioning, qualification, startup, and operational readiness activities.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and mechanical integration issues during project execution.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Biochemical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • 5+ years of process equipment/manufacturing engineering experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, life sciences, or related process industries.
  • Hands-on experience with process equipment, piping systems, and mechanical utilities.
  • Knowledge of GMP manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to read and review PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and vendor documentation.
  • Experience supporting equipment installation, commissioning, qualification, and startup.

Preferred

  • Biologics, sterile manufacturing, API, or pharmaceutical process systems experience.
  • Greenfield pharmaceutical facility or large capital project experience.
  • Experience with containment systems and highly potent compounds.
  • Owner-side/EPCM project experience.
