    Job Description

    A Little About Us

Oats Overnight is on a mission to build a generational CPG brand. Since 2016, our high-protein, drinkable oatmeal has reached over a million customers through direct-to-consumer, and we’re now scaling with all major nationwide retail and club partners. Our goal: become a household brand by leveraging speed, storytelling, and strategy.

We are vertically integrated: we develop, manufacture, and fulfill everything in-house. This operational control allows us to engage customers directly into the R&D process, an initiative where we were first-to-market in CPG. It also makes our brand tangible and real: our factory, our team, and our product pipeline are all part of the narrative.

This is an exciting stage — we are emerging as a significant omni-channel brand and launching new products to capture significant market share across verticals. We want you to help us get there.

Every teammate here has equity because we’re building something big, and everyone plays an important role. If you’re excited about building a brand that does things differently, this is that opportunity.

We are not accepting candidates from third-party recruiters or agencies for this role — direct applicants only.

    What’s The Job?

The Process & Maintenance Engineer leads process improvements and equipment reliability initiatives within the operations department. This role supports efficiency, quality, and performance optimization across manufacturing functions — evaluating workflows, driving equipment reliability through root cause analysis and engineering change management, and partnering with cross-functional teams to implement solutions that enhance productivity, reduce cost, and minimize downtime.

    Schedule: Monday–Friday

What You’ll Be Doing, Stop Scanning and Read This Part

    • Evaluate current operations and equipment processes, and develop/implement improvements to increase efficiency, reliability, and reduce waste and downtime.
    • Optimize manufacturing processes and equipment performance to deliver gains in cost effectiveness, product quality, and operational reliability.
    • Lead and facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for equipment failures and chronic issues, documenting findings and ensuring follow-through on corrective actions.
    • Manage the Engineering Change Request (ECR) process for equipment modifications, upgrades, and process improvements — evaluating feasibility, impact, and compliance, and coordinating cross-functional reviews and approvals.
    • Collaborate with the Maintenance Planner and maintenance team to optimize preventive maintenance schedules, and support predictive maintenance efforts (vibration analysis, thermal imaging, ultrasonic testing, and other condition monitoring tools).
    • Identify, scope, and execute capital projects — including equipment installations, layout changes, and new technology evaluation — to enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and cost savings.
    • Collaborate with production, quality, maintenance, and fulfillment teams to resolve process and equipment challenges and implement improvements.
    • Support continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven analysis and problem solving.
    • Maintain accurate technical documentation, including SOPs, equipment specs, change records, and maintenance procedures.
    • Provide training and mentorship to operations employees on process, equipment, and procedural improvements.
    • Partner with Quality and Food Safety teams to ensure compliance with SQF, GMP, and other regulatory and safety standards.
    • Ensures and promotes food safety throughout the facility.
    • Ensure compliance with food safety and Good Manufacturing Practices.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent experience).
    • 3–5 years of experience in process and/or maintenance/reliability engineering in a manufacturing environment; food, beverage, or CPG manufacturing experience preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of RCA and ECR processes.
    • Hands-on experience with predictive maintenance techniques such as vibration analysis, thermal imaging, and ultrasonic testing.
    • Demonstrated ability to identify and solve complex technical problems.
    • Experience in project management preferred.

    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
    • Someone that can partner and influence at all different levels.
    • Ability to handle multiple priorities and navigate in a fast moving environment.
    • Hands-on approach — comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment, on the floor as needed.
    • Excellent communication, documentation, and project coordination skills.
    • A relentless drive to get things done.
    • Flexible, willing, and quick to learn new processes, new technology, and new ways of thinking.
    • Proficient with AI tools to support daily productivity and problem solving.
