Manufacturing Process Engineer
Summary
The Manufacturing Process Engineer will serve as the primary technical resource for a modern, temperature-controlled production facility. This role supports grinding and machining operations by developing, planning, supervising, and coordinating a wide range of process engineering activities. Responsibilities include process improvement, equipment support, training, documentation, and quality assurance\u2014contributing directly to operational efficiency and overall organizational success.
Candidates should bring strong hands-on experience in a process manufacturing setting. Backgrounds in grinding, machining, machine-building, or tooling development are highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Process Engineering & Development
Design, develop, and implement technical solutions for precision grinding processes.
Research and develop grinding process technologies, tooling, and process improvements.
Support scale-up, application development, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Create and maintain process instructions, work procedures, and documentation.
Operations & Troubleshooting
Provide hands-on support for grinding and machining equipment.
Diagnose process and equipment failures; develop permanent corrective actions.
Work closely with operations staff to resolve ongoing quality issues.
Implement changes to reduce waste, improve cycle time, and enhance throughput.
Training & Collaboration
Train operators and technicians on best practices, procedures, and equipment usage.
Assist plant operations, engineering, and management teams in new process introductions.
Communicate effectively across departments with clear record keeping and follow-through.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
Perform root cause analysis and lead corrective action activities.
Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles where appropriate.
Ensure processes support delivery of consistent, high-quality products.
Qualifications
Technical Skills
Experience in grinding or machining processes (strongly preferred).
Hands-on mechanical aptitude; machine-building experience is a plus.
CAD modeling experience required; UG/NX experience is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
Understanding of quality systems and process control.

Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
