Process Pipe Project Manager (50 Hours/Week)

POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced Process Pipe Project Manager with strong MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) background to lead complex process piping and construction projects. This role requires a hands-on leader with deep construction management (CM) and project management (PM) experience who can oversee detailed process piping systems from planning through closeout, while seamlessly coordinating MEP scopes. The ideal candidate brings proven field and office experience in industrial/commercial construction environments and thrives on delivering projects safely, on time, and within budget.

• Lead end-to-end project management for process piping installations, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, execution, and closeout.
• Manage and coordinate MEP systems integration with process piping scopes (mechanical piping, HVAC interfaces, plumbing, and related electrical supports).
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, cost controls, risk registers, and progress reports; drive recovery plans when needed.
• Oversee construction activities in the field ensure quality, safety, code compliance, and adherence to specifications, P&IDs, isometrics, and shop drawings.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, engineers, and internal teams; lead weekly progress meetings and RFIs/submittal processes.
• Review and manage change orders, pay applications, and contract documents.
• Perform constructability reviews, material take-offs support, and value-engineering recommendations specific to process piping and MEP systems.
• Enforce strict safety protocols (OSHA, site-specific plans) and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) programs.
• Serve as the primary client-facing point of contact; maintain strong stakeholder communication and expectation management.
• Mentor junior PMs, superintendents, and field staff; promote a collaborative, high-performance project culture.
• Track and report KPIs related to cost, schedule, safety, and quality for process pipe and MEP scopes.

• 7+ years of progressive construction experience, with at least 5 years in Project Manager or Construction Manager roles focused on process piping and/or MEP systems.
• Proven track record managing process piping projects (industrial, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, food & beverage, water/wastewater, energy, or similar) including large-bore and small-bore piping, alloy/carbon steel, sanitary, and specialty systems.
• Strong hands-on MEP construction knowledge (mechanical piping, plumbing, HVAC distribution, equipment setting, and related electrical coordination).
• Demonstrated experience with full project lifecycle: pre-construction, procurement, field execution, commissioning support, and turnover.
• Proficiency reading and interpreting P&IDs, isometric drawings, spool drawings, structural/MEP plans, and specifications.
• Solid command of project controls: scheduling (Primavera P6 or MS Project), cost management, change management, and document control.
• Working knowledge of relevant codes and standards (ASME B31.3, ASME Section IX, ASTM, AWS, local plumbing/mechanical codes, etc.).
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• OSHA 30 (or equivalent) and strong safety leadership background.
• Bachelor s degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred (equivalent field experience considered).

• Experience with process systems in regulated industries (cGMP, FDA, etc.) or heavy industrial environments.
• Familiarity with BIM/VDC coordination (Navisworks, Revit) for clash detection between process pipe and MEP trades.
• PMP, CCM, or equivalent certification.
• Prior experience working for a general contractor, mechanical contractor, or specialty process piping contractor.
• Knowledge of welding procedures, pipe fabrication, hydrotesting, and commissioning/startup support.
• Software proficiency: Procore, Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction IQ, SAP/Oracle, or similar construction management platforms.
