Job Title: Process Quality EngineerCompany: Spencer Composites Corporation (SCC), (wholly owned subsidiary of X-Bow Systems, Inc.)Location: Sacramento, CA (on-site)Position Type: Full-TimeAbout the RoleAs a Process Quality Engineer, you will ensure that incoming and outgoing materials, components, and products meet required quality standards, specifications, and compliance requirements, aligning with organizational and customer expectations. This role requires an independent, self‑motivated, and highly skilled engineer with extensive knowledge of Quality and Configuration Management to oversee products with minimal guidance, often on accelerated timelines. The position is on‑site in Sacramento, CA with some travel (10%).Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Requirements and StandardsCommunicate quality requirements, specifications, and standards to operations via purchase orders, manufacturing work instructions, and verbal communication.Ensure designs and associated Configuration Management comply with industry standards, regulatory, and customer‑specific requirements.Inspection and TestingCollaborate with teams to establish inspection criteria and acceptance standards.Oversee manufacturing inspections and testing to verify conformance to engineering requirements with emphasis on arm fire devices, electronics, electro‑mechanical products and cables supporting rocket motor launch controls.Define, review, and conduct First Article Inspection.Process OversightDevelop, implement, and maintain quality control processes throughout the manufacturing lifecycle; Purchase Orders, Receipt, Product Serial/Lot Number Traceability in assemblies, etc.Ensure manufacturing processes comply with industry standards (AS9100, ISO 9001) and regulatory requirements.Continuous ImprovementIdentify areas for process improvement and implement corrective actions.Lead or participate in lean manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives.Documentation and ReportingDevelop and maintain quality documentation, including process control plans, work instructions, and standard operating procedures.Prepare quality reports and present findings to management.Nonconformance ManagementInvestigate quality issues and nonconformances.Implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address quality problems.Cross‑functional CollaborationWork closely with engineering, production, and other departments to integrate quality considerations into all aspects of the manufacturing process.Technology IntegrationImplement and utilize quality management software and systems.Stay current with emerging technologies and methodologies in quality assurance.Risk ManagementIdentify potential quality risks in processes and products.Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.QualificationsS. in Engineering or SciencesPrefer: 1‑year experience in Quality AssuranceGeneral RequirementsMust be a U.S. Person.Must meet federal government requirements for access to government information; dual citizenship may preclude meeting this requirement.About Spencer CompositesSpencer Composites, a wholly owned subsidiary of X-Bow Systems, Inc.
