Position Overview
We are seeking technically skilled Process Technicians to support semiconductor process engineering and metrology operations in Hillsboro, OR.
This is a hands-on technical position supporting engineering experiments, process qualification, metrology, equipment operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance. The Process Technician will operate sophisticated analytical and metrology equipment including TEM, Dual Beam SEM/FIB, light microscopes, deposition equipment, and sputtering tools.
The position works closely with cross-functional engineering teams to conduct experiments, analyze results, troubleshoot process and equipment issues, and optimize semiconductor manufacturing processes.
Semiconductor processing experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with strong technical aptitude, hands-on equipment experience, microscopy/metrology backgrounds, laboratory experience, or related advanced manufacturing experience should also be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform technical tests and experiments in support of Process Engineering.
- Set up and operate metrology and supporting equipment.
- Operate TEM (Transmission Electron Microscope) equipment.
- Operate Dual Beam SEM/FIB equipment.
- Use light microscopes, deposition equipment, sputtering tools, and other metrology systems.
- Support process-equipment qualification and process optimization activities.
- Adjust hardware and software parameters to execute experiments or correct process issues.
- Change software parameters based on different experimental requirements.
- Work closely with engineering teams to troubleshoot process problems.
- Perform minor electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Perform preventive maintenance and unscheduled maintenance on process equipment.
- Collect and document experimental and process data.
- Prepare records, charts, graphs, and diagrams of test results.
- Assist engineers with analysis and presentation of process-related data.
- Write procedures, work instructions, and training materials.
- Follow established semiconductor manufacturing and equipment safety procedures.
- Properly use required PPE.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; AA/AS, bachelor's, or advanced degree may also be considered.
- Strong technical and hands-on aptitude.
- Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Comfortable working closely with engineers and other technical teams.
- Ability to accurately document experiments and technical results.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including:

- Ability to work an onsite night-shift compressed schedule.
Preferred Experience
- 3 4 years of semiconductor processing experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
- Thin-film deposition experience.
- Etch-process experience.
- Semiconductor metrology experience.
- TEM experience.
- SEM experience.
- FIB / Dual Beam experience.
- Light microscopy experience.
- Deposition or sputtering equipment experience.
- Preventive maintenance or equipment troubleshooting experience.
- Knowledge of EDS, EELS, PEELS, or STEM is highly desirable.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds.
- Manual dexterity for working with equipment and technical tools.
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods when required.
- Ability to safely work around semiconductor processing and metrology equipment.
