Our client is seeking an experienced Plastics Process Technician to support 3rd shift plastic injection molding operations. This hands-on role is responsible for mold setup, process development, troubleshooting, and maintaining consistent production quality and efficiency.
The ideal candidate has strong injection molding experience, understands Scientific Injection Molding principles, and is comfortable troubleshooting processes, equipment, and materials in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
Set up and operate injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment.
Install molds and prepare presses for production start-up.
Establish and adjust molding parameters using Scientific Injection Molding techniques when applicable.
Troubleshoot process issues and make adjustments to improve quality and productivity.
Monitor and document molding process parameters.
Perform basic mold maintenance and assigned preventive maintenance.
Support process validation and continuous improvement activities.
Complete production documentation and maintain a safe, organized work area.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED.
5+ years of plastic injection molding experience; relevant education may substitute for a portion of the experience.
Strong knowledge of injection molding processes and Scientific Injection Molding principles.
Experience with injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment such as dryers and thermolators.
Basic knowledge of plastic materials and resin characteristics.
Strong troubleshooting and technical math skills.
Ability to stand/walk for extended periods and regularly lift at least 60 lbs.
Preferred Experience
Injection molding process development and optimization.
Mold changes, machine start-ups, and shutdowns.
Preventive maintenance and process validation.
ERP or manufacturing work-order systems.
