    Description

    Summary of Position

    The Processing Material Handler III is responsible for obtaining product for processing, also requires operating a stand-up and/or sit-down forklift and completing work order reporting as needed.

    Functions of the Position

    • Drives a stand-up and/or sit-down forklift to move products and supplies to and from production lines. May perform Material Handler I duties when not driving, depending on production needs.

    • Creates pallet ID labels and completes verifications for all materials and products brought to the lines prior to use. Completes work order reporting as needed.

    • Performs daily PIT equipment checks to ensure safety.

    • Ensures accurate use and proper care of hand-held scanning equipment.

    • Assists other material handlers and scanners as needed and helps train MH I, II, and III employees on line duties.

    • Assists machine operators and supervisors in other areas or lines, including packing, stacking, and other line tasks.

    • Participates in daily cleaning activities to maintain a clean work area.

    Food Safety and Quality Responsibilities

    • Follows current good manufacturing practices, allergen and sanitation controls, food defense and food fraud requirements, HACCP/FSMA, SQF, and all regulatory standards.

    • Maintains and documents preventive controls to ensure food safety and quality.

    • Immediately reports any food safety or quality issues to management.

    • Shares knowledge, skills, and information within the team and across functional areas.

    • Continues to develop technical, functional, and leadership skills.

    • Complies with all safety policies and procedures and supports a strong safety culture by practicing safe behaviors, reporting hazards, and conducting safety observations.

    Qualifications

    Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations

    • Forklift license or certification for stand-up and/or sit-down forklifts.

    • Level III power equipment license (JBSS) required.

    Skills and Competencies

    • Ability to speak, read, and write English preferred.

    • Basic math skills required.

    • Good manual dexterity and vision.

    • Ability to continuously lift and/or move up to 50 lbs, and occasionally up to 60 lbs.
