Job Description

Our Processing Operators are critical to success at FritoLay! Our Processing Operators are responsible for operating process-related equipment and plant process control systems in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. Although you will start out as a Processing Operator for FritoLay, we are investing in helping you grow with us. This job can open the door to career opportunities with us or our parent company, PepsiCo. In this role, here are some of the frequent tasks you will be doing:

  • Monitor the full chip production process-from raw potato receiving through frying and seasoning-using process control systems to track chip thickness, fryer temperatures, pressures, flow rates, and seasoning coverage to ensure products meet Frito‑Lay quality standards.
  • Identify and resolve process, product, or equipment deviations through troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis, making routine adjustments to maintain performance.
  • Set up, operate, clean, and rinse production equipment while adhering to all FDA regulatory requirements.
  • Perform timely product and seasoning changeovers with zero cross‑contamination to protect quality and food safety.
  • Clean and sanitize processing equipment using chemicals and high‑pressure hot water, following all PPE protocols.
  • Complete required documentation, maintain a sanitary work area, and promptly report any safety or food safety concerns.

We are open 24 hours a day, which means you may not have a typical schedule, and our jobs are physical! If you have never worked in a warehouse or manufacturing environment before, you should understand that you will be on your feet for a majority of your shift around loud equipment. Here are the minimum qualifications of this job:

  • You are at least 18 years of age or older
  • You will be required to work on weekends, holidays as well as off shift
  • You are able to lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist (e.g. a twin-size mattress) with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • You are able to stand and walk for extended periods of time with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • You are able to climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • You are able to repeatedly lift, carry, push, pull, and handle products with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • You are willing and able to work at heights using ladders or lifts to access areas of the plant

Our application takes 20-25 minutes to finish on any device. Our mission is to get you in for an interview instead of jumping through hoops. Just keep an eye on your e-mail, and we will take care of the rest.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or disability status.

PepsiCo is an Equal Opportunity Employer: Female / Minority / Disability / Protected Veteran / Sexual Orientation / Gender Identity

Our Company will consider for employment qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with the requirements of the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and all other applicable laws, including but not limited to, San Francisco Police Code Sections 4901 - 4919, commonly referred to as the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance; and Chapter XVII, Article 9 of the Los Angeles Municipal Code, commonly referred to as the Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance.
