Reports To: Breaker Department Supervisor or Local Operations Manager
FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt, Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
The Processor supports the repair, upgrade, reconditioning, and remanufacturing of electrical equipment ranging from individual circuit breakers to complete substations.
This is a hands-on shop position requiring strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, safe work practices, and a willingness to learn electrical equipment repair and refurbishment processes.
Equipment Reconditioning and Processing
Learn to refurbish circuit breaker components to like-new condition
Clean, degrease, paint, polish, and prepare metal and insulated breaker components
Operate sandblasting, polishing, and spray booth equipment
Assist with powder coating as needed
Support the repair and reconditioning of circuit breakers and related electrical equipment
Learn to safely troubleshoot basic electrical and mechanical problems and perform repairs
Read and follow OEM manuals, technical literature, and work instructions
Shipping, Receiving, and Material Handling
Load and unload delivery trucks
Palletize and prepare circuit breakers and equipment for delivery
Operate a forklift and other material-handling equipment
Perform plant deliveries and pickups as required
Shop and Equipment Maintenance
Clean and maintain tools, equipment, and assigned work areas
Maintain an organized and safe work environment
Ensure work areas remain clean and orderly throughout the shift
Documentation and Performance
Maintain accurate records of work performed
Photograph equipment when received and throughout the repair or reconditioning process as required
Complete assigned work according to production schedules, project requirements, and operational priorities
Meet expectations for quality, accuracy, timeliness, and workmanship
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or Operations Manager
High school diploma or GED required
Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn electrical equipment repair
Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment
Ability to use measuring tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, and tape measures
Ability and willingness to read OEM manuals and technical documentation
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Dependable transportation to and from the shop
Valid driver's license required for plant deliveries and pickups
Personal hand tools required
Preferred
Powder coating experience
Previous electrical, mechanical, industrial, manufacturing, or equipment repair experience
Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, or PowerPoint
This position requires the ability to:
Stand continuously for extended periods
Walk frequently throughout the work area
Perform repetitive hand and arm movements
Occasionally reach overhead, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Occasionally lift up to 75 pounds
Regularly handle materials and equipment weighing up to 25 pounds
This position has no direct reports.
Performance will be evaluated based on factors including:
Timely completion of assigned breaker reconditioning and support work
Quality, accuracy, and neatness of completed work
Maintenance of a clean and organized work area
Accurate documentation of work performed
Achievement of project and operational objectives established by management
This position does not currently include a commission or bonus plan.
An introductory performance review will typically be completed approximately 80 days after employment to evaluate performance and job requirements.
Employees will also receive regular annual performance reviews assessing productivity, business skills, performance, and accomplishments.
