Job Description:

Primary Responsibility

Under the general supervision of the Campus Access Coordinator, the Access Services test proctor is responsible for the administration and test security procedures for students who have been approved for learning and testing accommodations utilizing numerous approved methods. This is a part-time position which is limited to no more than 28 hours per CMC's workweek. CMC's workweek is Saturday through Friday.

Pre-requisites for Position (Qualifications Standards)

Education and experience sufficient for the rigors of the position. Examples may include: Associate's Degree or two-year college certificate, vocational school or technical program beyond high school, business college or similar training efforts and 1-year related work experience, or High School Diploma/GED and 2 years related work experience. Or equivalent education and experience that will provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the functions of the position.

Special Skills or abilities directly applicable to the position with knowledge of a variety of standard administrative and business methods and procedures; standard Microsoft Office software.

Ability to: read, write, speak, and understand English well; operate variety of office equipment; proficient in computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets and electronic mail; monitor details and follow written directions; meet deadlines; strong verbal, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Provide administrative support to the Access Coordinator as needed, including successful use of Accommodate Management software.

Colorado Mountain College requires that employees perform their assigned duties within the State of Colorado. The hiring pay rate is $ 27.28 per hour. Benefits include retirement contribution, annual and sick time, mental health resources, and tuition benefit. CMC utilizes a wage progression compensation model that accounts for a candidate's skill and experience. Although a hiring rate is listed, this will be set commensurate with the successful candidate's qualifications and in compliance with the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act.

Minimum Qualifications:

Essential Duties

This position is responsible for administering and supervising test taking for students with approved testing accommodations. Test supervision can include in-person testing, paper-based exams, as well as technology assisted testing. This position will follow specified testing rules and security procedures to ensure the testing environment is securely maintained.

  • Preparing testing room for examination.

  • Verifying student identity, supervising the testing environment per faculty/test requirements, maintaining the security of the exam(s).

  • Maintaining records of testing experience (ex. time started, approved materials, irregularities that occur, etc.)

  • Understand and maintain confidentiality expectations as provided by supervisor.

  • Being present during all testing sessions.

  • Working with the Access Coordinator to manage testing schedules at multiple locations.

Supervision Received

The position reports to the Access Coordinator or designated supervisor. Position usually works within the framework of responsibilities but may require guidance at times.

Supervisory Responsibility

Position has no supervisory responsibility.

Special Conditions of Employment

Successful completion of a background check including motor vehicles records report will be required. Incumbents in this position will adhere to all safety and compliance policies of Colorado Mountain College while performing all duties assigned. Minimal travel is required of the position, but occasionally this position will need to travel for college departmental meetings. May require some evenings to as part of ensuring course quality for the Campus' community learning courses.

Working Conditions

This position requires constant sitting, occasional walking, standing and driving; occasional handling objects, pushing/pulling; frequent reaching with hands/arms, and use of finger movements; occasional lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 lbs. Constant written and oral communication and the ability to reason and analyze and perform calculations occasionally. Work is performed using a computer and standard office equipment daily and driving a vehicle occasionally.
