Examples of Duties

An hourly salary range of $24.71 to $28.73 is anticipated for this position.

The duties listed below are not all of the duties that may be assigned but are those that are considered as essential for an employee to perform.

  • Manages the purchasing cycle of all goods and services for Public Health
  • Receives and processes goods for quality control
  • Completes formal and informal bidding
  • Documents and analyzes purchasing processes and procedures
  • Identifies sources of supply and obtains competitive pricing
  • Completes invoicing of reconciled purchases
  • Ensures purchasing compliance
  • Establishes effective working relationships with staff and vendors
  • Assists with budget and accounting functions

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Experience with large scale purchasing methods and procedures.
  • Understanding of procurement principles, policies, and procedures, including knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Experience working with procurement bid documents and bidding processes.
  • Experience problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to independently compose bidding documents and correspondence.
  • Ability to balance and prioritize procurement requests in a high-volume environment.
  • Ability to research different materials, commodities, and services.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree with coursework in accounting or related field and two (2) years of procurement or related experience.

Special knowledge abilities, skills, physical requirements and other factors: Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Forms, Teams, etc.), Cognito, and Adobe Acrobat; knowledge of local government purchasing rules and regulations. Communication skills.

Physical Demands: Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of the limb and body movement.

  • Performs sedentary work that involves walking and standing majority of the time and involves exerting up to 50lbs of force on a regular and recurring basis.

The applicant selected must undergo and pass a drug screening test prior to employment.
