Job Title: Procurement Analyst

Location: Raceland, LA

Position Overview: A Procurement Analyst is responsible for evaluating and sourcing vendors based on price, quality, and availability.  The procurement analyst also conducts research, analyzes current market trends, forecast future performance, make procurement recommendations, negotiate prices, draft contracts in addition to creating and maintaining vendor relationships.   

Key Responsibilities: 

 Negotiates prices with vendors, drafts contracts and coordinates the delivery of services or goods.

·        Liaison with multi-facility locations, providing solutions, support and superior customer service.

·        Resolves problems concerning shipments, prices, or products between facilities and vendors.

·        Evaluates vendors based on price, quality and availability.

·        Studies purchasing records and inventory levels.

·        Analyzes current market trends within field based on sale performance data.

·        Forecast future performance and makes procurement recommendations.

·        Manages vendor relationships.

·        Follows-up with the purchasing business line to ensure that the goods or services are up to par.

·        Conducts various Oracle and MS Access procurement reports.

·        Composes RFIs and RFPs for prospective and current vendors.

·        Reviews contract specification for materials, products, etc.

·        Performs research on new items.

·        Assists other facilities in use of BOA catalogs.

·        Sources potential suppliers and enhances relationships with existing suppliers.

·        Maintains manual or computerized procurement records.

·        Facilitates inspections, substitutions and standardization by arranging and participating in conferences between suppliers and Company personnel.

·        Assists in bid package evaluations, interviews, and discussions.

·        Maintains BOA commodity catalogs.

·        Prepares purchase orders as required.

·        Maintains a high degree of ethics, integrity, diplomacy, and confidentiality in dealing with employees and external customers.

·        Reviews and ensures completeness of all supplier bid proposals.

·        Negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.

·        Contacts supplier throughout the performance period to ensure schedules will be maintained.

 Qualifications: Minimum of two (2) years of purchasing and/or asset management experience in the marine or related industry preferred.

 

 

Skills and Abilities:

·        Experience managing vendor relationships.

·        Experience in reviewing and drafting contracts.

·        Knowledge of supply chain management best practices.

·        Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, specifically MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Access preferred.

·        Ability to focus on internal customer requirements.

·        Knowledge of materials used in the construction/repair of vessels.

·        Oracle and/or Fineseexperience is preferred.

·        Good communication skills, including written and oral communication.

 

·        Can work well with others.
