Procurement And Contracting Supervisor

Why it's a great opportunity: In this role you and your team will be responsible for the end-to-end solicitation and contracting activities for the County, delivering strategic, compliant, and efficient services that enable the County to provide cost-effective, timely programs. Procurement and Contracting (PCS) serves as a trusted advisor to Departments, delivering exceptional service, fostering collaborative relationships internally and externally, and creating significant value through procurement expertise. PCS has three teams focused on different areas of procurement and contracting types: capital project procurement, client services, and goods and services. The County is recruiting supervisors focused on goods, client services, and other services. These supervisors will also support the management of the County's procurement and contracting systems, policies, templates, and training; including the creation of SOP's and process standards for Workday and OpenGov, implementation of a new Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system, and data standards, collection, and analysis.

Why it's a great department: The Finance & Enterprise Services Department delivers enterprise-wide services that support every County department and many external partners, ensuring Pierce County operates effectively, efficiently, and with strong public stewardship. Finance & Enterprise Services staff provide a broad portfolio of high-impact, countywide services, including budgeting and performance management, fiscal services, procurement and contracting, information technology, general services, fleet services, and risk management.

The Department leads with safety, empowerment, and collaboration to create an environment where every person can contribute, challenge ideas, and continuously improve.

How to be successful in the role: Your success will come from collaborating with coworkers, internal customers, and county leadership to determine standards and expectations. You will be creating relationships to inform, prevent risk, and explain procurement decisions and policy. Your experience and leadership will help us build expertise, increase knowledge across teams, and create future opportunities for all the teams further ensuring your success.
