Procurement Buyer II

Location: Dayton, Ohio

Job Summary:

Contribute actively to the Purchasing team's standard procurement processes, procedures, policies and tools. Organize and share information regarding internal customer's requirements to ensure that business units "indirect" procurement teams are aligned with Indirect Procurement Strategy. Conduct benchmarking and overall market assessment to support the development of the procurement strategy, aligned with customers' requirements and in compliance with indirect procurement strategy. Advise internal customers on procurement issues, providing support and guidance at all stages of the procurement cycle. Generate procurement reports from source systems (spend, transaction reports). Work directly with internal customers and interact at all levels within the organization to understand requirements, align with Procurement strategies and perform efficiently all purchasing activities. Execute procedures, such as requisitions and Purchasing Orders. Responsible for procurement of business system data input and integrity. Participates in maximizing the procurement teams' changes, part parameters.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage the purchasing process for indirect (MRO) goods and services, ensuring timely and cost-effective procurement to support organizational operations.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and provide appropriate solutions, acting as a liaison between departments and suppliers.
  • Foster and maintain supplier relationships, address concerns, resolve issues.
  • Assist in the evaluation of supplier proposals and pricing on indirect material.
  • Help track and monitor the status of purchase orders and deliveries.
  • Update change order revisions and purchase order details including pricing & delivery as required
  • Assist in resolving discrepancies and/or addressing basic issues between Accounts Payable and suppliers.
  • Research and evaluate potential vendors, and act as a point of contact for quotes and basic inquiries.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (both verbal and written) with team members, vendors and stakeholders.
  • Adapt to dynamic environment.
  • General knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point.
  • Self-motivated and able to manage own workload to achieve targets set by manager.
  • Demonstrably high level of personal integrity and performance ethic.
  • MRP: SAP experience preferred.
  • Experience in vendor relationships.
  • Preferred 2 years of Procurement knowledge and experience, particularly in Indirect, and ideally in manufacturing operations.
