Job Summary
The Buyer II supports Lead and Strategic Sourcing Managers by executing and managing purchase orders, coordinating with suppliers, tracking payments and project deliverables, and assisting with cost and schedule management. This role works closely with Strategic Sourcing, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and Shared Services to ensure timely, compliant, and cost effective procurement of goods and services, while further developing expertise in Client's capital procurement processes and systems.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement and Administrative Support
- Support day to day strategic sourcing activities in coordination with Lead and Strategic Sourcing Managers
- Manage purchase requisitions and purchase orders, including pricing, lead times, delivery requirements, and basic terms and conditions
- Identify, track, and help resolve issues impacting purchase orders, payables, and supplier performance
- Coordinate with Shared Services on PO management, invoice processing, and issue resolution
Supplier and Project Coordination
- Coordinate with suppliers on order confirmations, schedule status, and delivery tracking
- Assist in resolving invoice discrepancies and order fulfillment issues
- Support supplier onboarding, documentation, and compliance requirements
- Track project level procurement deliverables, milestones, and supporting documentation
Data, Compliance and Continuous Improvement
- Maintain procurement records, order logs, and basic spend tracking, as required
- Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies, procedures, and approval limits
- Assist Strategic Sourcing Managers and Category Leads with sourcing support, quote collection, and basic cost comparisons
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement processes, data accuracy, and execution discipline
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Engineering, Finance, Supply Chain, or related field
- Prior experience supporting a procurement or supply chain team in a business environment
- Working knowledge or familiarity with ERP/MRP systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Strong attention to detail with demonstrated organizational and follow through skills

This role provides the right candidate with a strong foundation in Corporate and Capital Procurement through direct engagement with experienced professionals. The capabilities and experience developed will position the individual well for future advancement into more complex sourcing and buyer roles inside or outside of Client.
