Manufacturing Buyer Internship – San Antonio
<\/div>
Position Summary
<\/div>
We are seeking a motivated and detail oriented Manufacturing Buyer Intern to join our
<\/div>
procurement team in San Antonio. This internship provides hand son experience in supply
<\/div>
chain operations, supplier engagement, purchasing processes, and cross functional
<\/div>
collaboration within a fast paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will
<\/div>
support daily purchasing activities, contribute to sourcing decisions, and help ensure on time
<\/div>
supply of materials to support production.
<\/div>

<\/div>
Key Responsibilities
<\/div>
1. Purchasing & Procurement Support
<\/div>
 Assist with issuing purchase orders (POs) for production materials, components, and
<\/div>
services.
<\/div>
 Monitor order status, delivery schedules, and follow up with suppliers to ensure
<\/div>
ontime deliveries.
<\/div>
 Update procurement systems and maintain accurate purchasing records.
<\/div>
2. Supplier Engagement & Communication
<\/div>
 Support communication with suppliers regarding lead times, pricing, quotes, and
<\/div>
order updates.
<\/div>
 Participate in supplier meetings (in person or virtual) to track open actions and gather
<\/div>
status updates.
<\/div>
 Help evaluate supplier performance based on quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
<\/div>
3. Sourcing & RFQ Activities
<\/div>
 Assist in preparing and sending Requests for Quotation (RFQs) for assigned
<\/div>
categories.
<\/div>
 Gather cost breakdowns, compare supplier proposals, and summarize findings for
<\/div>
review.
<\/div>
 Support identification of potential new suppliers through research and outreach.
<\/div>
4. Data Analysis & Reporting
<\/div>
 Analyze material spend, usage trends, and inventory levels.
<\/div>
 Prepare weekly reports summarizing purchasing performance and open issues.
<\/div>
 Update dashboards or Excel trackers related to supplier metrics, cost savings, and
<\/div>
procurement KPIs.
<\/div>
5. CrossFunctional Collaboration
<\/div>
 Work closely with engineering, production, logistics, and quality teams to resolve
<\/div>
component shortages and supplier issues.
<\/div>
 Support problem solving efforts for material delays, quality concerns, or process gaps.
<\/div>

<\/div>
Learning & Development Opportunities

Qualifications
<\/div>
 Currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial
<\/div>
Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
<\/div>
 Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
<\/div>
 Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with data.
<\/div>
 Clear written and verbal communication skills.
<\/div>
 Ability to work in a fastpaced manufacturing environment.
<\/div>
 Interest in purchasing, supply chain, or manufacturing operations.
<\/div>
