Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Procurement Manager for a confidential client organization located in Chicago, Illinois. This position is a contract fully onsite in Chicago, IL.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Procurement Manager will support the development and execution of a centralized procurement function and assist in deploying the Procure-to-Pay (P2P) lifecycle within Workday. This role is responsible for supporting standardized procurement processes including requisitions, approvals, vendor selection, contract workflows, and exception handling.

The position plays a key role in ensuring procurement alignment across Finance, Legal, Operations, Programs, and Grants. The Procurement Manager will also support internal controls, documentation, and compliance requirements to ensure audit-ready and grant-compliant processes.

This is a hands-on role requiring strong execution, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to support fast-moving procurement initiatives in a deadline-driven environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the design and execution of a centralized Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process within Workday

  • Assist in developing and maintaining procurement workflows including requisitions, approvals, vendor selection, and contracting processes

  • Support procurement policy documentation, internal controls framework, and training materials

  • Conduct process mapping and assist with risk-based internal control gap analysis for compliance readiness

  • Partner cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, Operations, Programs, and Grants to ensure alignment

  • Provide support for procurement operations including vendor issues, sourcing requests, and urgent escalations

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or related operational function

  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as Workday or similar Procure-to-Pay platforms

  • Understanding of procurement workflows, vendor management, and contract processes

  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong attention to detail with ability to support documentation and compliance needs

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

$36-$38/hour on a contract basis, with potential exposure to enterprise procurement systems and high-impact organizational initiatives.
