About the Role
The Manager – Procurement / Stores & Supply Chain Planning is responsible for overseeing procurement, inventory planning, and supplier management for engineering and manufacturing materials, including customized sheet metal. This role brings a fresh, improvement-focused perspective to an established team and plays a key role in optimizing supplier relationships, pricing negotiations, inventory levels, and supply chain processes.
The position works closely with global sourcing partners, including suppliers and buying teams in China and India, while serving as the primary onsite liaison in Huntsville.
Key Responsibilities
Lead procurement and inventory planning for engineering and manufacturing materials
Manage sourcing of customized materials, including international suppliers in China and India
Negotiate pricing, terms, and supply agreements with vendors
Partner with global buying teams responsible for PO releases and KPI tracking
Address material shortages and supply disruptions while maintaining strong supplier relationships
Analyze and improve inventory management, planning processes, and procurement workflows
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align supply chain strategy with business needs
Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost efficiencies
Provide leadership and a continuous improvement mindset to an established team
Required Qualifications
8–10 years of experience in procurement, supply chain planning, or inventory management
Experience sourcing engineering or manufacturing materials
Proven ability to negotiate pricing and manage supplier relationships
Strong understanding of inventory planning and procurement processes
Experience working with international suppliers
Background in automotive, manufacturing, engineering, or related industries
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing or influencing global buying teams
Familiarity with procurement KPIs and performance metrics
Experience driving process improvement initiatives
