Role Summary
The IT Category Manager is responsible for leading the development and execution of sourcing and procurement strategies for technology related categories, including hardware, software, cloud services, and telecommunications. This role plays a key part in driving cost efficiency, supplier performance, and alignment between procurement initiatives and broader business objectives.

In this position, you will serve as a strategic partner to IT and business leadership, guiding category strategy, managing vendor relationships, and ensuring the effective delivery of procurement goals. You will leverage data insights, industry knowledge, and cross functional collaboration to optimize supplier performance, mitigate risk, and support long term organizational growth.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute category strategies for IT related goods and services aligned with organizational objectives
• Partner with IT and business stakeholders to understand demand and align sourcing strategies with operational needs
• Lead vendor selection, contract negotiation, and supplier relationship management activities
• Monitor supplier performance and conduct regular reviews to ensure service quality, cost effectiveness, and compliance
• Analyze spend data and market trends to identify cost savings opportunities and improve procurement outcomes
• Implement strategic sourcing plans across hardware, software, cloud, and telecommunications categories
• Collaborate cross functionally with Finance, Operations, HR, and Legal to support procurement initiatives and contract compliance
• Identify and mitigate risks within the IT supply chain, including vendor performance and regulatory considerations

Key Requirements
• 5 to 8 years of experience in category management, procurement, or strategic sourcing with a focus on IT categories
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Information Technology, or related field
• In depth knowledge of IT procurement principles including hardware, software, cloud, and telecommunications sourcing
• Experience negotiating complex vendor contracts and managing supplier performance programs
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive strategic decision making
• Familiarity with procurement tools, spend analytics, and market research methodologies
• Professional certifications such as CPSM, CIPS, or C.P.M. are preferred
• Excellent communication, relationship building, and problem solving skills with the ability to influence stakeholders
