Our NYC based client is seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to lead purchasing operations, supplier relationships, and strategic sourcing initiatives. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving procurement excellence, improving operational efficiency, and leveraging technology to support business growth.
The Procurement Manager will oversee a team of three and partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders to optimize inventory planning, supplier performance, and procurement processes. Competitive salary and benefits are offered.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, coach, and develop a team of procurement professionals, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Manage day-to-day purchasing activities and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure cost-effective and reliable procurement operations.
Drive strategic sourcing initiatives and negotiate with vendors to maximize value and mitigate supply risks.
Utilize ERP and procurement technology platforms to manage workflows, reporting, and purchasing analytics.
Champion the adoption of new technology and automation tools to enhance operational efficiency and decision-making.
Identify opportunities to streamline processes, improve performance, and reduce costs.
Partner with Finance and Operations teams to forecast purchasing needs and proactively address inventory challenges.
Develop and track KPIs related to purchasing, inventory management, supplier performance, and cost savings.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field.
5+ years of procurement, purchasing, or supply chain experience, with demonstrated progression in responsibility.
Prior experience leading and developing direct reports.
Experience working with ERP systems and procurement technologies.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to leverage data to drive decisions.
Advanced Excel and reporting capabilities.
Excellent communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in food distribution, fresh food, consumer goods, manufacturing, or related supply chain environments.
Exposure to AI-enabled business tools, automation, or digital transformation initiatives.
Experience leading system implementations, process improvements, or operational transformation projects.
Pay Details: $120,000.00 to $140,000.00 per year
