Located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast in Biloxi, the MDMR manages all marine life, public trust wetlands, adjacent uplands and waterfront areas to provide optimal commercial, recreational, educational and economical uses of these resources that are consistent with environmental concerns and social changes. Our mission is to enhance, protect and conserve the states marine interests.

About the Position

This advanced-level position is responsible for administering procurement activities while ensuring compliance with applicable state procurement laws, policies, and procedures. This position is responsible for procurement activities involving a broad range of commodities, equipment, supplies, and contractual services. Responsibilities include analyzing procurement requests, sending purchase order requests for proper internal approvals and generating purchase orders in financial system software. Receiving purchase order items through financial system software. Overseeing purchase order payment transmittals for accounts payable. Administering purchasing card program and overseeing purchasing card activities, including cardholder prepared account reconciliations for all purchasing cards. Assisting with vendor related issues and agency staff questions and concerns. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

What youll need to be Successful

The ideal candidate will have general purchasing process experience, excellent organizational skills, the ability to manage and prioritize multiple activities simultaneously, experience with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets, and possess strong analytical skills.
