Strategic Sourcing Analyst

About the Opportunity

A well-established distribution and supply chain organization is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Analyst to join its Purchasing & Supply Chain team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys supplier development, international sourcing, cost reduction initiatives, and supply chain optimization.

Working closely with senior leadership, you'll help drive sourcing strategies, strengthen supplier partnerships, improve operational efficiency, and support inventory and procurement initiatives across a diverse product portfolio.

This position offers the opportunity to influence key business decisions while contributing to a growing organization with a collaborative and team-oriented culture.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new domestic and international suppliers
  • Develop sourcing strategies to improve product availability, quality, and cost efficiency
  • Manage supplier relationships and support ongoing performance evaluations
  • Negotiate pricing, freight terms, and supplier agreements to improve profitability
  • Coordinate with freight providers, customs brokers, and logistics partners to support efficient product movement
  • Analyze purchasing, inventory, and operational data to uncover cost-saving opportunities and process improvements
  • Support inventory planning, forecasting, and replenishment activities
  • Assist with new product introductions, packaging updates, and private-label initiatives
  • Monitor supplier quality metrics and help resolve product or service-related issues
  • Prepare reports, recommendations, and business insights for leadership
  • Partner with operations, sales, customer service, and other internal teams to support organizational goals
  • Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain function

Qualifications

Required
  • 3+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, purchasing, or supply chain operations
  • Experience working with international suppliers and global sourcing programs
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience using ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, SysPro, or similar platforms
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment

Preferred
  • Experience coordinating freight, transportation, or import/export activities
  • Background supporting manufacturing, distribution, or product-based organizations
  • Familiarity with supplier quality management and quality assurance processes
  • Experience supporting private-label or proprietary product programs
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access or other database tools
