Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to support the acquisition of goods and services while ensuring the best overall value for the organization. This role partners with internal stakeholders to process purchasing requests, analyze vendor options, support negotiations, and maintain efficient procurement operations. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, customer-focused, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review purchase requests for completeness and required approvals prior to creating and issuing purchase orders to suppliers.
  • Partner with internal business teams to understand procurement requirements, identify appropriate vendors, obtain bids, and provide pricing comparisons.
  • Assist with negotiating pricing and terms with suppliers.
  • Identify procurement-related issues and coordinate with suppliers to resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Support daily procurement operations and internal purchasing programs.
  • Assist with special projects and process improvement initiatives as needed.
  • Provide training and user support for procurement and eProcurement systems.

Qualifications

  • 0–2+ years of relevant professional experience in procurement, purchasing, operations, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume workload and balance multiple priorities effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Self-motivated, intellectually curious, and able to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and SharePoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience with eProcurement or ERP systems such as PeopleSoft.
