Snapshot / Role Overview
We're seeking a Procurement Specialist in the Chicago metro area to research, source, and facilitate the ordering of products and services for commercial mechanical operations.

Impact
- Ensure projects have materials available when needed to maintain schedules
- Control costs through strategic sourcing and vendor negotiations
- Support multiple departments with efficient procurement processes
- Maintain supply chain continuity for service and construction operations

Responsibilities
- Research and evaluate suppliers for HVAC equipment, materials, and services
- Process purchase orders and coordinate delivery schedules with project teams
- Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to achieve cost savings
- Maintain relationships with key suppliers and manufacturers
- Track orders and resolve issues with shipments or product quality
- Analyze spending patterns and identify opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with project managers and estimators on material requirements
- Maintain accurate procurement records and vendor performance data

Requirements
Must-Haves
- 3+ years of procurement or purchasing experience, preferably in construction or mechanical trades
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Proficiency with procurement software and Microsoft Office
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities
- Understanding of supply chain management principles

Nice-to-Haves
- Knowledge of HVAC equipment and mechanical systems
- Experience with ERP or construction management software
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field
- Professional purchasing certifications
