Akima Mission Optimization (AMO), an Akima company, is hiring a Procurement Specialist to support the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Corporate Operations Support Services contract in Dahlgren, VA. NSWC Dahlgren requires on-site procurement support for day-to-day operations within the Corporate Business Division in the areas of procurement management. The role will focus on independently managing activities and functions aligned with the procurement life cycle.


Responsibilities


+ Lead and oversee the review and analysis of procurement requirements for internal and external customers in major Programs across NSWCDD.

+ Determine the appropriate and compliant procurement vehicle which conforms to FAR requirements and assist customers with completing the necessary procurement documentation to ensure FIAR audit readiness.

+ Oversee the life-cycle procurement process to include material screening, IT Procurement Review (ITPR) Coordination, PR creation and buying actions, discrepancy reporting, and Defense Reutilization and Marketing Office (DRMO) coordination.

+ Manage procurement processes to analyze and independently evaluate requirements while maintaining rapid response to stakeholder and client inquiries.

+ Leverage and apply advanced knowledge of Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) to advise on the purchases of goods and services to support efficient procurement practices.

+ Recommend procurement strategies, develop acquisition packages and assist in obtaining required documentation to guide procurements throughout the process.

+ Exercise independent judgment when reviewing, interpreting, and validating information and requirements to determine next steps.

+ Expedite responses and follow-up to inquiries for short turn procurement actions to meet critical mission needs.

+ Engage and communicate clearly and professionally with multiple levels of customers and stakeholders across various mediums.


Qualifications


+ Must be US Citizen with a current Interim Secret or higher (active DoD Secret clearance preferred)

+ Associate's degree, OR three (3) years or more of related work experience.

+ Ability to work independently across multiple online systems to resolve issues and respond to customer inquiries.

+ Knowledge of MILSTRIP, IBPES and other tools/systems used to support the procurement process.

+ Understanding of the function of a "technical screener" roll is a plus.

+ Must be a detail-oriented and customer-focused team member.

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).
