Responsible for managing and administering all activities between GDLS and suppliers for various types of purchase orders and subcontracts for the direct purchasing team.

Responsibilities Include:

• Will lead the solicitation/preparation of Request for Proposals (RFP's) and Request for Quotes (RFQ's)
• Performs cost analysis of proposals and quotes to support sourcing decisions.
• Will create, issue, and finalize formal purchase orders in accordance with internal procedures and requirements.
• Provides responsive customer service to internal stakeholders and external suppliers, including resolution of payment discrepancies and other issues.
• Conducts proposal negotiations which includes cost, terms and conditions, payment terms, and scope of work to achieve the best value for GDLS.
• Will prepare purchase orders, monitoring the performance to assure compliance with contractual requirements and scope of work.
• Implement and maintains long term agreements and contract purchase agreements with key suppliers.
• This role will support planning activities related to material requirements and supplier capacity.
• Will expedite parts and materials as needed to meet program and production schedules.
• Coordinates onboarding of new suppliers, including execution of Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) and completion of all required documentation.
• May need to help interpret technical drawings and specifications to ensure supplier understanding and alignment of the requirements.
• Partners closely with requestors and cross-functional teams to support development and performance improvement.
• Ensures GDLS compliance with applicable procurement laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
• This role will prepare and deliver presentations and updates to senior leadership and the customer, as required.
• Will help to assist and mentor junior colleagues to support overall team objectives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management or related business related discipline.
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in procurement or a SCM related role.
• Proficiency with Oracle and/or related MRP business systems desired.
• Demonstrated negotiation skills.
• Must have strong oral and written communication skills and demonstrated problem solving ability.
• Have a solid understanding of procurement processes and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Experience working in a team environment to achieve shared objectives and performance metrics along with working autonomously.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage heavy workload.
• High level of business ethics, integrity and professional conduct.

Additional Information

• This position may require eligibility to obtain a US security clearance. (Non-US Citizens may not be eligible to obtain security clearances).
• Up to 20% travel may be required at times.
• Willing to work outside regular business hours as needed to address critical issues that arise.
