We are seeking a Procurement Specialist to support purchasing activities for steel, fasteners, and other manufacturing materials. This role is well suited for someone with hands-on experience in a steel fabrication, fastener, or manufacturing environment who understands lead times, pricing volatility, and vendor coordination in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
Source and purchase steel, fasteners, and related manufacturing materials
Manage vendor relationships and negotiate pricing, lead times, and commercial terms
Issue, track, and follow up on purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery
Coordinate closely with production and operations teams to support build schedules
Monitor inventory levels and assist with forecasting material requirements
Resolve supplier issues related to shortages, delays, substitutions, or quality concerns
Maintain accurate purchasing records, documentation, and ERP data
Support cost control initiatives and continuous improvement efforts
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2+ years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain
Background in steel, fasteners, or manufacturing required
Working knowledge of lead times, material specifications, and vendor management
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced job shop or manufacturing environment
Strong communication, organization, and follow-up skills
Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Excel
