Procurement & Supply Chain Specialist

Location: Tomball, TX (ABM Branch)

Schedule: Full-Time |  On-Site

Please Note:  This is a 100% office-based position located at our Accent Building Materials branch in Tomball, TX.  This role requires working on-site five days per week and is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.

Accent Building Materials is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Procurement & Supply Chain Specialist to provide day-to-day operational support to the Director of Procurement and Supply Chain. This role is responsible for helping manage inventory levels, monitoring product needs, obtaining and evaluating quotes, placing orders, and following through to ensure timely delivery and issue resolution. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced distribution environment and play an important role in maintaining product availability, inventory accuracy, and efficient supply chain execution.

Position Responsibilities

• Monitor, forecast, and compile inventory needs to support business and customer requirements.
• Obtain and evaluate quotes for goods and services.
• Place and track purchase orders to ensure shipments arrive on promised dates.
• Support inventory management activities and help maintain accurate inventory records.
• Research, identify, and resolve order issues, inventory concerns, and price discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Maintain monthly program inventory reports and other reporting as needed.
• Assist with supplier selection, supplier communication, and vendor performance tracking.
• Support vendor compliance, supplier follow-up, and purchasing-related administration as needed.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, sales, warehouse, and accounting, to support timely and accurate execution.
• Provide guidance to internal customers on standard product options and appropriate choices.
• Support the “Best In Class – Customer Service” mission of Accent Building Materials.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will also be considered.
• Demand planning, forecasting, and procurement experience preferred, but not required.
• Basic understanding of supply chain and inventory management concepts.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with internal and external customers.
• Ability to troubleshoot problems and resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Proficient with computer navigation and standard business software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and ERP software such as Great Plains, SAP, or DMSi preferred.
