The Role

The Produce Manager is responsible for keeping our produce department fresh, organized, inviting, and running smoothly. You'll oversee everything from ordering and inventory to merchandising, quality control, customer service, and supporting employees within the department.

This is a hands-on position. You'll stock and organize produce, create displays, help customers, monitor product quality, and lead a small team.

You do not need to know everything about produce on day one. We value people who are dependable, eager to learn, comfortable working with customers, and ready to take ownership of their department.

What You'll Do

• Manage the day-to-day operation of the produce department
• Order produce and maintain appropriate inventory levels
• Monitor freshness, quality, rotation, and presentation of products
• Create attractive, creative produce displays and merchandising
• Provide friendly, knowledgeable customer service
• Stock, organize, and maintain the department throughout the day
• Participate in weekly team meetings and provide department updates
• Support store promotions and social media efforts
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and store procedures
• Help maintain a positive, team-focused work environment

• Comfortable using computers and learning new systems
• Able to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to learn about produce, merchandising, inventory, and store operations
• Ability to be on your feet for most of the workday
• Ability to safely lift and handle boxes weighing approximately 40 to 50 pounds as part of regular department duties

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous grocery, retail, produce, food service, or customer service experience
• Knowledge of produce, fresh foods, or healthy eating
• Experience with inventory, ordering, purchasing, or merchandising
• Comfort with social media and store promotions

Schedule & Compensation

• Starting around $20 per hour, with the opportunity to increase earnings as you learn additional responsibilities
• Full-time schedule of up to approximately 45 hours per week
• Weekend availability is required
• Typical schedule is approximately 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
