We're looking for an experienced Produce Manager to lead our Yorktown Heights, NY Produce Department. This is a key leadership role within our store, managing daily operations, team performance, and the quality of our fresh produce to ensure our customers always receive the very best.
Position Summary
As the Produce Manager, you'll oversee all aspects of our high-quality Produce Department - from product selection and display to inventory control and team development. Your strong leadership, organizational, and customer service skills will help maintain our standards of excellence while driving department success.
Responsibilities
Lead and supervise all Produce Department operations, including staffing, training, and daily workflow.
Manage ordering, inventory levels, and product rotation to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
Build relationships with suppliers and negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and return policies.
Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and company standards.
Analyze department sales and performance metrics, recommending improvements as needed.
Maintain attractive, well-stocked, and high-quality displays that showcase seasonal and specialty produce.
Provide outstanding service to customers and foster a positive, team-oriented environment.
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum 3 years of Produce Management experience (grocery or specialty market preferred)
Proven leadership and team management experience
Strong communication, organizational, and merchandising skills
Comprehensive knowledge of produce varieties, quality standards, pricing, and market trends

Working Conditions
Frequent standing and movement on hard surfaces
Regular bending, lifting, and reaching to inspect and stock merchandise
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs independently (heavier items with assistance)
Exposure to varied temperatures in coolers and storage areas
May occasionally work near cleaning agents or sharp tools required for department operations
