Position Overview

Grow overall hotel sales through solicitation of new business using consultative sales. Cultivate relationships with key hotel personnel to enhance overall business relationship with hotel. Responsible for the execution of projects from confirmation to invoicing. Communicate with all parties involved to collect and disseminate information required.

Key Job Responsibilities

Client Contact

  • Solicit and secure business for Encore through a proactive, consultative sales approach and utilize Encore's CAPTURE sales process.
  • Proactively participate in hotel site inspections and provide the hotel staff with enhanced site inspection tools.
  • Manage Encore's sales process through proper utilization of ACT!, and create professional bids and proposals by actively using Encore systems and marketing tools.
  • Utilize an understanding of costs associated with sales, including labor, commission and equipment outsourcing and work within established profitability guidelines.
  • Utilize current Company software, systems marketing tools and standard documents (ACT!, Proposal Generator, Location Website, On-line Portfolio, Helios OE).
  • Meet client needs through attending pre-conference meetings, creating, and maintaining organized show files and responding to client concerns, questions, and problems.
  • Determine the specific use of the equipment sold for assigned project.
  • Confirm that the equipment and technical positions will in fact meet the client's needs.
  • Determine who will be generating schedules and drawings, ordering labor and equipment, etc.

Equipment Ordering/Acquisition

  • Enter equipment order into inventory tracking system and coordinate with Operations, and other PMs, if necessary, what specific equipment will be shipped.
  • Arrange for any sub-rentals that might be required and write applicable PO's.

Crew Coordination

  • Together with Operations, assemble the appropriate crew to execute the show.
  • Designate crew chief and include necessary information in the information package to them.
  • Determine if outside labor is needed and write any necessary P.O.'s for that labor.
  • Hold pre-production meeting with crew when necessary to transfer the vision of the client.

Job Accounting

  • Reconcile job costs and prepare invoice.
  • Assemble all paperwork in the job folder and submit for review with Director of Sales.

Technical Support

  • Provide technical support to Sales in proposal stage and other project managers based on area of expertise.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School diploma, BS/BA in Business preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years audiovisual, sales, or hospitality experience
  • On site crew management experience.
  • Client relationship skills, strong written and oral communications skills, and detail oriented
  • Prior sales experience in audiovisual preferred
  • Knowledge of hospitality industry and sales processes required in addition to the ability to read and decipher financial reports and records.
  • Computer proficiency required including MS Office and CAD software. Prefer audiovisual equipment, Lynx, and Oracle knowledge.

Work Environment

Hotel

Work is performed in a hotel/convention center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures and to dirt, sand and/or dust. The working conditions will vary between moderately quiet to noisy volumes. Team members will use high-end audio-visual equipment and electrical components and will be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders. Team members may be asked to work in multiple hotel locations. Working times will include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore based on an individual hotel or a representation of hotels in that city or area.

Office

Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Working times may include irregular hours and on-call status including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore based in an office environment and when traveling, on an individual venue or a representation of venues in that city or area.
