The Product Design Engineer is a mid-level Engineering position and will learn and apply drafting and production processes while working under the supervision of a Sr. Engineer.
The work will include standard computations, analysis, and 3D CAD design work.
The position will take projects from conception through production helping throughout the cycle.
Job Duties:
Work on projects assigned or directed by more experienced Engineers.
Design, draft and model using AutoCAD and Solidworks for existing and new products.
Create 3D models, 2D drawings, Specifications and Bill of Materials.
Provide technical support to manufacturing and field installation.
Develop engineering skills based on engineering procedure 230.50 Engineering Training.
Create samples of working models for demonstration.
Improve usability of new and existing products.
Revises processes, documents and drawings through Value Improvement (VIP) Systems.
Begin to perform tests in the engineering lab under supervision, learn ANSI Standards and how they relate to testing.
Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering
4 plus years of design experience
3D Design Software expertise, preferably Solidworks
Open to working on shop floor with production team to help with adjustments
Ability to travel to testing facilities up to two weeks out of the year
