As a Mechanical/Product Design Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the specification, design, prototyping, and deployment of cutting-edge hardware systems. We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with experience in developing and designing high-reliability and precision mechanisms while considering a broad range of business and hardware requirements, including materials, manufacturability, form factor, and integration of technologies with elastomers and soft goods. We are specifically looking for a candidate with a history of building robotic mechanisms. Work across the full product development cycle to deliver mechanical component/subsystem designs from concept to production Design mechanisms with tendons, pneumatic, and/or motor control Manage suppliers for prototypes and production of parts Able to manage the schedule of your parts in concert with the full program's schedule Partner effectively with a cross-functional team of engineers and researchers Work daily with electrical, firmware, and controls engineers on motor integration, sensor packaging, and mechanism bring-upBachelors in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics or equivalent experience 2+ years of experience in developing robotics mechanisms 3+ years experience in 3D CAD modeling (NX or similar) and 2D Drafting with GD&T Experience working cross-functionally to rapidly prototype new concepts Experience designing for CNC machining, EDM, injection molding, die cutting, and laminating Experience in managing component vendors Experience planning and executing Design Of Experiments Hands-on experience selecting and optimizing motors and gear trains A master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering Experience developing robotic end effectors that include elastomers and textiles Project management experienceMeta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
