    About the role

At Rippling, Design is central to our mission to free smart people to tackle hard problems. We build products that automate the operational complexity of running a business-from HR and payroll to IT and finance-so our customers can focus on what matters most. In a world of fragmented, outdated systems, were creating a unified platform where thoughtful design turns complexity into clarity, confidence, and action.

As a Product Design Lead on the HRIS team, youll play a key role in shaping and scaling Ripplings core HR platform, helping businesses manage their workforce more efficiently across the globe.

Designers at Rippling are product builders. AI isnt just something we design-its fundamental to how we work, from exploration and prototyping to shipping world-class customer experiences.

    What you will do

    • Design new 0-1 experiences, improve and expand existing experiences, and execute on tactical deliverables.
    • Design for both employees and HR leaders, delivering flows that feel effortless day to day while providing the control, compliance, and visibility required at scale.
    • Collaborate tightly with Product and Engineering to make high-velocity decisions, ship with urgency, and advocate relentlessly for customers at every step.
    • Partner closely with our Product Research team, collaborate and support research projects, and use insights in your design work.
    • Champion a consumer-grade quality bar, elevating craft across the portfolio and mentoring designers in systems thinking, interaction design, and visual polish.
    • Work closely with other designers to develop and expand our design system.

    What you will need

    • 8+ years of end-to-end product design experience shipping complex, high-impact products from concept to launch, then iterating based on what you learn.
    • A portfolio that shows you can turn messy, ambiguous problems into simple, intuitive workflows, especially in complex domains.
    • Active use of LLMs (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) in your design workflow whether for research, requirements, copy, or exploration.
    • Comfort with AI-assisted prototyping tools (Cursor, Claude Code, or similar), even if youre not writing production code.
    • Strong interaction and visual design craft, with the ability to produce polished work across edge cases and states, and communicate clear, build-ready specs.
    • Relentless customer focus, backed by a habit of digging into real behavior, identifying pain points, and designing solutions that solve meaningful problems.
    • Excellent communication and storytelling, from crisp async write-ups to persuasive presentations that drive alignment and decisions.
    • A track record of working effectively with Product and Engineering, moving quickly while holding a high quality bar.
    • Comfort operating in fast-moving environments, juggling multiple work-streams, unblocking dependencies, and owning timelines with minimal oversight.
