Job Title: Product Designer III
Location: Beaverton, OR
Duration: 06 months
Hybrid: Mon Thurs onsite, Fri remote

Job Description:

  • On-site role at PHK; typical work hours, 4/1 hybrid schedule
  • Contract to help cover FTE leave; will run ~6 mos from start date
  • Degree preferred, not a hard requirement
  • 5 years minimum experience preferred in a product design role (in relation to apparel)

Top must-have skills include the following:

  • Adobe Illustrator expertise
  • Hands-on experience in apparel product design
  • Familiarity with sewing/construction and fabric knowledge
  • Tech pack creation experience
  • Prior Client experience HIGHLY preferred; team will review those candidates first, and if needed, will pivot to those who are not alumni

Skills that would make a candidate stand out:

  • Photoshop

  • CLO
  • Experience with styling

Responsibilities

  • The nature of the work is focused on the appearance of product, communications, or collateral materials. Product Design - With direction from Design and Category management, uses advanced design skills to create original, innovative concepts and designs that appropriately reflect Client's design philosophy & standards.
  • Advances design image, product performance, and inspires targeted consumers.
  • Contributes to seasonal creative strategy for products and line segments.
  • Design Execution - proactively follows the execution of all product details including: construction detail, color, form, style, detail, fit performance, graphic application, trim, etc.
  • Reviews samples and clearly communicates changes to ensure timely completion of each project.
  • Leverages excellent knowledge and practice in all phases of product executino; shares knowledge and advancements with others.
  • Process/Timeline - Works with design leadership and Category team members in Design, Development, and Product Management to ensure feasibility of designs, meeting price points, merchandising needs and product creation timelines. Communication - Communicates and presents design concepts to various internal and external audiences with support of Expert Designer. Produces presentation materials in conjunction with the Design and Category teams that effectively communicate the concept behind the line for internal and external audiences.
  • Skill/Knowledge Development - Proactively works with Design management and Expert Designers to advance and build personal portfolio of design and Expert Designers to advance and build personal portfolio of design skills, experiences, and product/process knowledge.
  • Provieds design support for design team as needed outside of assigned product load.

Education Requirement

Typically requires a Bachelor s Degree and minimum of 5 years directly relevant work experience Note: One of the following alternatives may be accepted: PhD or Law 3 yrs; Masters 4 yrs; Associates degree 6 yrs; High School 7 yrs.

Additional Details

  • ETW will help support leave coverage and assist in Client s fleece program (sweatshirts), helping with novelty fleece designs
  • Will work with ~10 other apparel designers and ~5 others on the product team
  • Portfolio links will be required with submissions
  • HM anticipates 1-2 rounds of interviews
