Job Description

The Great Library Co. is seeking a Product Designer to help shape intuitive, user-centered experiences for our customers.

Position Summary

As a Product Designer, you will design end-to-end product experiences—from early concept through refinement—ensuring usability, accessibility, and strong visual design principles. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to translate customer needs and business goals into clear, compelling design solutions.

In this role, you’ll advocate for thoughtful design decisions, iterate based on feedback and insights, and contribute to a cohesive product design system that scales as the product evolves.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and final UI designs that align with product requirements and user needs.

  • Collaborate with product, engineering, and research teams to define problems, explore concepts, and validate design approaches.

  • Develop and maintain design consistency across the product, including components, patterns, and visual standards.

  • Present design work clearly, incorporating feedback from stakeholders and using it to improve outcomes.

  • Support design handoff by partnering with engineering to ensure quality implementation and resolve design-related issues.

Required Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience designing product user experiences from concept through delivery.

  • Strong fundamentals in interaction design, visual design, and usability principles.

  • Ability to communicate design rationale effectively to both design and non-design partners.

  • Experience translating ambiguous problems into structured, testable design solutions.

  • Comfort working in a collaborative, iterative environment and incorporating feedback to improve designs.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with establishing or evolving design systems, reusable components, and design standards.

  • Experience conducting or leveraging user research and usability feedback to guide design decisions.

  • Portfolio showcasing end-to-end product design work, including problem framing, iteration, and outcomes.

  • Experience partnering with engineering teams to ensure design quality and consistency during implementation.
