Client Overview:
Our client is a well-established company specializing in children's apparel, with a strong focus on quality, innovation, and delivering commercially successful products across multiple categories. They are looking to add a Product Development Coordinator to their team.

Salary/Hourly Rate:
$70k - $80k DOE

Position Overview:
The Product Development Coordinator will support the product development process from concept through production. This individual will partner closely with design, sourcing, production, and vendors to ensure products are developed efficiently, meet quality standards, and stay on calendar. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and eager to grow within a fast-paced apparel environment.

Responsibilities of the Product Development Coordinator:
  • Support the product development process from initial concept through production handoff.
  • Manage sample tracking, development timelines, and key milestone calendars.
  • Communicate with overseas factories and vendors regarding sample status, costing, materials, and development updates.
  • Assist with creating and maintaining product development documents, tech packs, and development trackers.
  • Coordinate sample reviews, approvals, and revisions with internal teams.
  • Partner closely with the Design, Sourcing, Production, and Merchandising teams throughout the development process.
  • Track and organize fabrics, trims, color submissions, lab dips, and other development materials.
  • Maintain accurate product information and development records.
  • Identify potential development delays and proactively communicate updates to stakeholders.
Required Experience/Skills for the Product Development Coordinator:
  • 2+ years of product development experience within the apparel industry.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Experience working with overseas vendors and factories.
  • Strong communication and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to work onsite full-time in New York, NY.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Product Development Coordinator:
  • Children's apparel experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PLM systems is a plus.
  • Open to candidates from other apparel categories including women's, men's, accessories, or private label.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with garment construction, fabrics, trims, and apparel development processes.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred.
