Role: Product Development Engineer 2
Location: Beaverton, OR (Hybrid 4 Days Onsite / 1 Day Remote)
Duration: 6+ Month Contract (07/01/2026 01/06/2027)
Position Overview

We are seeking a Product Development Engineer 2 to join a Global Football (Soccer) Footwear team and support product development initiatives during a leave coverage assignment. This role will be responsible for driving footwear product development activities from concept through commercialization while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, high-quality products.

The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, effective communication abilities, logical problem-solving capabilities, and prior experience in footwear development, manufacturing, engineering, or product creation environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support footwear product development projects from concept through commercialization.

  • Convert product briefs and design concepts into commercially viable footwear products.

  • Collaborate with Product Design, Engineering, Materials, Testing, Manufacturing, and Operations teams.

  • Manage project timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure successful execution.

  • Coordinate communication with global partners and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Ensure products meet design intent, performance objectives, quality standards, costing targets, and commercialization requirements.

  • Participate in product reviews, prototype evaluations, and development meetings.

  • Support process improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to enhance product excellence.

  • Utilize analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve development challenges.

  • Maintain project documentation and reporting using Microsoft Office tools.

Required Qualifications

  • 3 4+ years of experience in product development, engineering, manufacturing, or related fields.

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Strong logical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

  • Team-oriented mindset with strong collaboration skills.

  • Demonstrated patience, adaptability, and willingness to learn.

  • Experience managing projects and working within cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Footwear development experience (highly preferred).

  • Understanding of footwear manufacturing, tooling, pattern engineering, and commercialization processes.

  • Experience working with footwear materials, testing methods, and product creation processes.

  • Prior experience with a global athletic footwear or consumer products organization.

  • Passion for or background in Soccer/Football.

  • Experience collaborating with overseas manufacturing partners.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Product Development, or a related field (preferred but not required).
