Our capabilities are extensive, allowing us to bring innovative concepts to life.Position SummaryThe Product Development Engineer is responsible for leading product design and development efforts from concept through production. This role requires strong technical expertise, creativity, and collaboration across sales, manufacturing, and engineering teams to develop cost‑effective, manufacturable solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and drive new product design and development initiativesTranslate customer and sales concepts into manufacturable designsCreate 3D CAD models and detailed designs using SolidWorksDesign prototypes; reverse engineer existing products as neededDetermine critical product features and functionality through cross‑functional collaborationProvide recommendations for hardware selection and sourcingSupport manufacturing with new product launches and ongoing production needsCollaborate with internal teams (sales, production, quality, and engineering) to determine optimal design approachesMaintain accurate file management within PDM systemsEnsure designs are cost‑effective and aligned with manufacturing capabilitiesQualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering (preferred)Previous experience in Product Development Engineering requiredExperience with thermoforming, vacuum forming, or complex assemblies preferredProject management experience (preferred)Required Skills & CompetenciesProficiency in SolidWorks and 3D CAD modelingStrong understanding of manufacturing processes, including CNC machining and fabricationAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and printsMechanical aptitude and understanding of product assemblyFamiliarity with plastic materials and their applicationsStrong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skillsExcellent organizational and multitasking abilities in a deadline‑driven environmentEffective written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word)Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environmentAdaptability and ability to quickly learn new systems and processesPreferred QualificationsExperience with 3- and 5-axis CNC machining and vacuum formingFamiliarity with marine or similar industriesExperience working within a PDM system#J-18808-Ljbffr
