Job OverviewThe Engineer will be part of a multi-disciplinary Innovation team supporting a variety of medical technologies and solutions with an initial focus on new drug delivery systems.Reporting to the Senior Manager of Innovation, this is a technical position where the engineer will contribute significantly to exciting, high visibility projects and collaborations across the R&D portfolio.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and conduct appropriate experiments (benchtop and in vivo) to characterize the performance of medical technologies, including protocol and novel method development.Provide technical direction to advance medical device design including ideation, prototype development, and bench/in vivo evaluations.Conduct data and statistical analysis to generate conclusions and drive project directions.Communicate results effectively (oral and written) to key stakeholders.Understand customer needs through literature review, technology assessments, and ethnographic research.Collaborate with cross‑functional team members to develop technology solutions that address prioritized unmet needs.Education and ExperienceDegree in engineering (biomedical, mechanical, etc.) or science discipline (chemistry, biology, etc.). Advanced degree preferred.Experience: PhD, MS + 2 years of relevant industry experience, or BS + 4 years of relevant industry experience is required.Experience in experimental design, data analysis, statistics, and technical writing.Experience working within a matrixed organization is preferred.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesAbility to plan and conduct scientific experiments and analyze, interpret, report, and present results.Experience contributing to multidisciplinary teams and influencing without direct reporting ties.Experience with in vivo animal models and medical device development.Ability to translate problem statements into study strategy.Ability to adapt quickly to changes in program priorities.Strong oral and written communication skills and teamwork.Preferred QualificationsExperience working under a quality system.Knowledge of drug delivery systems.Image processing and analysis.Programming (Python, Matlab) and/or 3D modelling (SolidWorks or equivalent).Knowledge of statistics and use of statistical packages.Work EnvironmentThe candidate is expected to work in a research lab environment and may require working with chemicals, in vivo models, and biological materials (blood, tissues, etc.).Work days are Monday - Friday#J-18808-Ljbffr
