POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Product Development Scientistyour roles and responsibilities will include:
The client is looking for a Product Development Scientist to develop and optimize innovative
adhesives and sealants for construction applications. This person will conduct hands-on laboratory research, formulate and test polymer-based products, support scale-up and customer trials, and collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and commercial teams.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and optimize adhesive and sealant formulations based on market and customer requirements.
- Design and conduct laboratory experiments involving synthesis, formulation, and performance testing.
- Evaluate bonding performance and processing behavior through application-specific testing.
- Lead laboratory workstreams and maintain accurate documentation and data.
- Work with manufacturing and supply chain teams to scale up new products.
- Support customer trials, validations, and application testing.
- Provide technical support to customers.
- Identify project risks, establish next steps, and drive projects toward completion.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor technologies, and intellectual property.
- Contribute to patent development and protection.
- Support laboratory digitalization, automation, and continuous improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS

Product Development Scientist who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal
Product Development Scientist would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:
- Ph.D. (preferred) or master s degree in chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
- 3-5 years of lab experience ideally in adhesives, sealants, coatings, or polymer systems
- Strong knowledge of polymer science, structure property relationships, and adhesive formulation
- Experience with organic synthesis and formulation of polyurethanes, silanes, and acrylics is an advantage
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and collaborate across functions
- Self-driven, proactive mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
