Title:Product Development Technician
Position Type: 1 year  contract with additional opportunity contingent upon performance and continued business need

Compensation: $28/HR
 
Responsibilities
  • Prepare batches of defined formulations using a variety of mixing equipment.
  • Conduct product testing on adhesives and sealants in accordance with ASTM standards, internal methodologies, and established testing protocols.
  • Adhere to all laboratory, woodshop, safety, and environmental procedures when preparing specimens and conducting testing.
  • Support and actively participate in the 5S program, contributing to a clean, organized, and efficient work environment.
  • Follow all laboratory safety requirements and best practices, maintaining a strong safety-first mindset.
  • Operate power tools, including drills, saws, routers, and other equipment as needed.
  • Utilize the company’s digital Product Development platform on a daily basis to perform batch processing, task execution, and documentation activities.
  • Participate in cross-training initiatives and support knowledge sharing across technologies and product lines.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with team members and cross-functional business partners.
  • Fabricate testing fixtures, application samples, and demonstration materials for product evaluations and customer presentations.
  • Independently manage product analysis and testing activities while accurately documenting progress, observations, and results within the digital platform.
  • Record, organize, analyze, and communicate experimental data and testing results through reports and presentations.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment, storage areas, and workspaces in a clean, organized, and operational condition.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field with a minimum of three (3) years of experience in the rubber, plastics compounding, coatings, adhesives, or sealants industry; or
  • Associate degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, or a related field with a minimum of five (5) years of relevant industry experience and/or extensive training in the rubber, plastics compounding, coatings, adhesives, or sealants industry; or
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Additional Qualifications
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively and ask questions when clarification is needed.
  • Excellent organizational, documentation, and work management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and the ability to quickly adapt to new technologies, products, and methodologies.
