Job Description

The SMTS Product Engineer leads new product introduction (NPI) from first silicon through qualification and high-volume production ramp. This role drives pre-silicon specification definition, first-silicon validation, datasheet verification, test program development, product characterization, and reliability certification. The engineer partners closely with Design, Operations, Process, and Device teams to ensure successful product launch, yield improvement, and long-term reliability.

Job Responsibilities

• First-silicon validation, debug, and qualification
• Develop and implement test plans, ATE programs, silicon validation flows,
multi-site hardware, and product characterization
• Support high-volume production test and debug activities
• Lead cross-functional teams and technical projects
• Define and execute product characterization and validation plans
• Collaborate with Process and Device teams to correlate wafer sort and final test
failures to device-level mechanisms and drive yield improvement
• Manage reliability and technology certification (JEDEC and technology-specific
stresses)
• Communicate qualification plans, timelines, status, and results to internal teams
and external vendors
• Serve as technical point of contact for OEMs and customers

Qualifications

B.S. or M.S. in Physics, Materials Science, or Electrical Engineering
• Experience with ATE test systems, probers, and test hardware; memory test
experience (DRAM, FLASH, SRAM, emerging memory) preferred
• Proficiency with data analysis tools (JMP) and programming languages (Python or C)
• Demonstrated experience in product spec validation, reliability characterization,
and qualification
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills
• Detail-oriented approach to reviewing and executing technical work
• High ethical standards and commitment to integrity, respect, and accountability

• Knowledge of magnetic tunnel junction (MTJ) materials/devices is a plus
