Product Engineer

About This Role...

The Product Engineer plays a key role in supporting the performance, growth, and continuous improvement of Gibraltar Home Solutions' product portfolio. This position is responsible for managing product specifications, driving product enhancements, supporting manufacturing operations, and maintaining technical documentation throughout the product lifecycle. Working closely with Engineering, Operations, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and external suppliers, the Product Engineer helps deliver innovative, high-quality products that meet customer needs while supporting business objectives. This role combines hands-on engineering expertise with cross-functional collaboration to improve product performance, manufacturability, and customer satisfaction.

What You'll Do

• Manage and maintain product specifications, performance data, technical documentation, and engineering records across multiple product lines.
• Identify, prioritize, and implement product improvements, cost-saving opportunities, and new product features.
• Create and maintain CAD models, technical drawings, bills of materials, and engineering documentation.
• Partner with manufacturing teams to resolve production challenges and improve product quality, efficiency, and manufacturability.
• Provide technical guidance, product training, and support materials for internal teams, customers, dealers, and distribution partners.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Customer Service, and production teams to successfully launch and support products.
• Work with suppliers to ensure products meet design intent, quality expectations, and manufacturing requirements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives that drive product performance, customer satisfaction, and business results.

What Success Looks Like

In your first year, you will:

• Become the technical subject matter expert for assigned product lines.
• Establish strong partnerships with manufacturing, supply chain, sales, and customer service teams.
• Successfully identify and implement product and process improvements that enhance quality and performance.
• Maintain accurate and complete product documentation, specifications, and engineering records.
• Provide timely technical support that improves customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.
• Contribute to successful product launches and ongoing innovation initiatives.

What You'll BringMust-Haves

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in product development, product engineering, or design engineering.
• Experience supporting manufacturing operations and collaborating with production teams.
• Proficiency with CAD software, including SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a cross-functional environment.

Nice-to-Haves

• Experience within building products, home improvement, consumer products, or manufacturing industries.
• Knowledge of product lifecycle management, continuous improvement, and design-for-manufacturing principles.
• Experience working directly with suppliers and contract manufacturers.
• Familiarity with quality systems, product testing, and technical training programs.

Location, Travel and Compensation

• This position is based on-site in our Jacksonville, FL manufacturing facility.
• The estimated salary range for this role is $70-85k annually, depending on experience, location, and qualifications.
