Job Title: Product Engineer Department: Engineering / Product ManagementLocation:  Pacific, Missouri (onsite)SUMMARYThe Product Engineer oversees the processes and procedures for qualifying new engine components and new sources for engine components. They may also access, create or revise prints packages and database information for new sensor applications and new vehicles. This includes determining the most appropriate sensor for each application, based on vehicle data, sensor characteristics, and manufacturing information. Other responsibilities include the evaluation of engine components on vehicles, procedures and specifications for sensor testing, modification of existing applications where appropriate, support for the manufacturing area, and design of sensor subcomponents. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIESOperates test equipment for new engine components and new suppliers.Creates and revises prints and database information for new sensor applications and new vehiclesCompletes the supporting documentation for the print packages, which includes the BOM's, the print checklists, and the wiring diagrams, schematics, custom fabrication drawingsCreates schematic and system drawings using schematic CAD programModifies existing applications where needed, initiates modifications when neededSupports the manufacturing area on sensor design, packaging, and test issuesContinual improvement in meeting the timing requirements and accuracy for the above items ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIESEvaluates engine components on vehiclesDevelops and maintains a system for tracking timing and backlogDevelops designs for new sensor subcomponents where neededParticipates in the development of manufacturing systems for sensor subcomponentsDevelops tests, specifications, and procedures for engine componentsBecause of the changing nature of our business, this job description will inevitably change.
