Under the direction of the Director of Engineering, the Product & Engineering Coordinator provides project, process, and administrative coordination across the engineering organization, supporting product development, systems design, quality, and certification activities. This role keeps initiatives organized and moving by maintaining visibility of priorities and milestones, coordinating cross-functional handoffs, tracking commitments, and supporting the documentation and compliance activities behind successful execution.
This position is located onsite in Lenexa, KS.

Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate recurring engineering and product meetings, including schedules, agendas, materials, action items, and follow-up.
- Maintain visibility of active engineering initiatives, priorities, milestones, dependencies, decisions, and outstanding actions.
- Track product development and certification milestones from requirements definition through testing, documentation, approval, and release.
- Coordinate handoffs among Engineering, Product Development, Sales, Operations, Quality, and other stakeholders to keep responsibilities, deliverables, and timing clear.
- Proactively follow up on open tasks, identify missed handoffs or schedule risks, and escalate concerns to the appropriate project or engineering leader.
- Maintain engineering workflow and standards documentation, including CAD/BIM templates, submittal package checklists, project records, and related process documents.
- Support administration of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System and applicable third-party product certifications, including UL and FM.
- Coordinate audit, inspection, testing, and certification schedules and organize the documentation required to support these activities.
Experience & Education
Required
- Associate degree in Business, Engineering Technology, Project Management, Operations, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Two or more years of experience in project coordination, process coordination, engineering administration, technical program support, or a related role.
- Demonstrated experience tracking multiple projects, tasks, deadlines, or cross-functional workstreams.
- Ability to read, understand, and coordinate around technical documentation without being the technical subject-matter expert.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience using project, task, or workflow management systems.
- Strong organizational, communication, and follow-through skills with a high degree of attention to detail.
Preferred
- Experience in manufacturing, fire protection/life safety, engineering, or another regulated technical environment.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
- Experience supporting UL, FM, or other third-party certification processes.
- Experience coordinating audits, inspections, testing, or compliance documentation.
- Experience with Smartsheet, Asana, Microsoft Project, or similar project management tools.
