    Description

    The Product Engineering Technician works with employees within the AMERICAN Flow Control (AFC) Division, AMERICAN Innovation, and Information Technology to implement and maintain configuration software and other business systems to support order entry, Manufacturing, Sales, and other business activities related to AFC products. This role also assists in maintaining the engineering change request system, including document management for prints, controlled documents, website information, and customer-related literature.

    In addition, the Product Engineering Technician works with other divisions and departments to implement business system changes that support new products and changes to existing products. The role provides technical assistance to the sales force and Project Management, handles customer correspondence regarding product applications and design requirements, and coordinates technical submittals, marketing documents, and detailed submittal packages.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Minimum of two (2) years of waterworks product knowledge or similar relevant product knowledge.
    • Ability to use product configuration software (CPQ), CAD software, web-based content management systems, and other business software.
    • Ability to read and interpret specifications for projects, such as technical drawings.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Prior cost analysis experience in a manufacturing environment similar to AMERICAN.
    • Experience working with product configuration or business systems, such as Optimus, ASI, JD Edwards (JDE), Microsoft Dynamics AX, or similar software.
    • Working knowledge of 3D CAD software, such as SolidWorks.
